October, the Cursed Month

I have a history with October.

All things bad happen in October. And most of the time, the badness is my (or my progeny's) mortality being threatened. The list of bad October Happenings can be found here. I must add to the list:

October 15, 2006: Sliced off a portion of my left index finger. Thankfully, it healed. But, sometimes when I look at the scar, I can still feel the slice. Chills.....ah.

Other than that, I am pretty sure last October was a good one. I am fully prepared to face this October. In fact, it already has the potential of being extremely awesome, what with a little trip I have planned coming up, and our Halloween Costumes. Just in case it doesn't pan out though, we have our game faces ready:

I think they got their Ears from me. Sorry girls.

Hi Kage,

The photos of the end of this post are hilarious!

I'm not sure if this post was solely to be amusing or if you actually on some level believe bad things will really happen to you in October, but just thought you might want to reset your mindset, that all future Octobers are going to be awesome. It seems like you are a big fan of Oprah and she had The Secret people on last season. They talked a lot about what you put out there, you receive. So, I hope that this October turns out to be awesome for you and your family!

happy n, the lighting was not on my side for no flash last night when we were taking these....I had a lot OUT Of focus b/c the shutter was open too long, but this spot by my window is one of my faves...same spot as that one of lil sis, that you said looked like it was done in a studio...so thanks.

DH...you're fierce too, and you know it.

mkc, TOTALLY an Oprah fan...I have been living the secret for many years, and I am so glad it has been given a name....and I totally tried for it last October with great results! I think the cut on my finger was a fluke...and I am totally looking forward to a great Oct. 2007...it's just those buggies getting into my system is pretty much out of my control!!! thanks though...

was this another costume clue? and how do you get your eyebrows so nicely groomed-im not liking my eyebrows lately.

Kage said...

anon, well, yes this is a costume clue in that one of us is wearing a wig as part of her costume....Actually....2 out of 4 of the Posse are wearing wigs as part of their costumes....and this photo is of each of taking turns with the wig cap. We also took turns with the wigs....but if I posted those it would give it away....completely.

Eyebrows? I groom them every day...I have for the past 14 years. I have only had them professionally done by makeup artists on photoshoots....I have learned from them....

any tips for us non-models? ive always read to brush downward before plucking. my brows seems to have a mind of their own. ive become friends with clear mascara. it seems to tame those badboys!! also, if you dont mind me asking, do you darken yours any? my eyebrows are like a shade lighter than my natural color-weird.

anon, yes I darken my brows with makeup....makes your eye makeup pop out more (like putting a frame on a picture.)

My suggestion is to go get them threaded or waxed by a professional...and just start upkeeping them. Every time you brush your teeth, take a look and pluck the new ones growing in (after the wax/thread.) I also comb and cut mine on the top...but that takes some training from a pro as well....

I have a little girl in my CTR 6 class who looked familiar when I met her last week... now I know why. She looks like Big Sis in this picture. Any relatives out in St George, OOtah? :-)

And I second onehm - funnest mom ever.
